Tiësto's "Work Hard, Play Hard" Remix Contest
To celebrate the launch of Tiësto's unprecedented College Invasion Tour, Musical Freedom is proud to announce the "Work Hard, Play Hard" remix contest! Tiësto's "Work Hard, Play Hard" track features vocals by Kay and an Autoerotique remix that ticks off all the right boxes. Making it's way from the infamous EDC Las Vegas to Privilege Ibiza, "Work Hard, Play Hard" is sure to be one of the biggest we'll hear this summer.
For this contest, Tiësto and Musical Freedom want to hear your best remix of "Work Hard, Play Hard". Grab the stems on Beatport.com or TiestoUniversity.com, put your own twist on the track and your work will be in the hands of Tiësto, driving crowds wild across the globe. After you create your remix, upload it to Tiësto's Facebook and stay tuned to find out if you're a finalist.
From all the entries, Tiësto and Musical Freedom will select their top finalists and on August 22nd fans will be able to vote, via Tiësto's Facebook, for their favorites. The "Fan Favorites" will receive Tiësto merchandise packages, pre-paid Beatport cards and more. Tiësto will select the grand prize winner from ALL the entrants and that winner will have their remix released on Musical Freedom, along with a few other surprise rewards to be announced!
Official Stages
1. August 1: Download phase - The remix parts of "Work Hard, Play Hard"will be available to download via Beatport.com or TiestoUniversity.com. The stems are bundled as a free download.
2. August 1 - August 21: Submission phase - Upload your remixes via the app on Tiësto's Facebook Page.
3. August 22 - September 2: "Fan Favorite"phase - Open voting on Tiësto's Facebook Page.
4. September 7: Winners announced.
Prizes:
Tiësto will choose one grand prize winner to be announced September 7, 2011. The grand prize winner will receive a prize package consisting of:
- An official release of their remix on Musical Freedom
- $200 pre-paid Beatport card
- A Tiësto merchandise bundle ($100 value)
The "Fan Favorite" will receive:
- $100 pre-paid Beatport card
- A Tiësto merchandise bundle ($100 value)
Two "Fan Favorite" runner-ups will receive:
- A Tiësto merchandise bundle ($100 value)
Terms & Conditions
1. Download the remix parts to "Work Hard, Play Hard" August 1 - August 21, 2011. The stems are bundled for free download on Beatport.com or http://www.tiestouniversity.com/remix-contest/.
2. Remix the track into your chosen style. All genres are welcome.
3. Submit your remix to www.facebook.com/tiesto. MP3 file size is limited and may be no larger than 25 MB.
4. The submission phase begins immediately on August 1, 2011 and ends August 21, 2011 at 6:00 PM EST.
5. 10-20 finalist remixes selected by Musical Freedom will be available for listening on Tiësto's Facebook fanpage during the "Fan Favorite" voting phase. The voting phase starts on August 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM EST and ends on September 2, 2011 at 6:00 PM EST. While popular vote will factor into Musical Freedom's selection of a winner, this is not a popular vote contest. Musical Freedom retains absolute and sole discretion when selecting a winner.
6. Winners will be announced on or around September 7th, 2011.
7. The winning remix will receive: 1 (one) release of the remix on Musical Freedom, 1 (one) Tiësto Merchandise Package (Value: $100), 1 (one) $200 Pre-Paid Beatport Card.
8. The top "Fan Favorite" remix entry will receive: 1 (one) $100 Pre-Paid Beatport Card and 1 (one) Musical Freedom Merchandise Package (Value: $50).
9. Two "Fan Favorite" runner-up remixes will receive: 1 (one) Musical Freedom Merchandise Package (Value: $50).
10. Remixes using “uncleared” samples will be disqualified. An “uncleared sample” is a musical work, loop or sample that is copyrighted (ie: you didn’t create it). Entrant(s) are free to use royalty-free loops, stems and samples and/or sounds the entrant(s) has originally created. Participants assume any and all liability in connection to the use of uncleared samples.
11. All remixes submitted for this Contest become the legal property of Musical Freedom. Your remix contest submission becomes the legal property of the record label hosting the competition as protection against the release of unauthorized remixes. Upon request entrant will supply Musical Freedom a 16 bit, 44.100 khz, WAV quality master file.
12. All trademarks and logos are protected. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Unauthorized copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting of this record, remix or remix parts is prohibited.
13. Musical Freedom accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liability, injury or upset caused to or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or winning the prize. Musical Freedom further accepts no liability for any damage caused to any person’s computer or other electronic device relating to or resulting from downloading any materials, including so called computer viruses, in connection with this competition. Nothing shall exclude us from our liability for death or personal injury as a result of our negligence.
14. Release and Indemnity: By completing and submitting an entry for the Contest, Participant agrees to abide by the terms of these official rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Contest. Except where prohibited by law, each winner consents to the use of their name, likeness (including photographs and video of participant), and entry (with the exception of the winner’s contact information, including address, telephone number and email address) in any manner by Sponsor Parties without any further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor Parties shall not be responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that any winner might incur as a result of the Contest or receipt of any prize. All Contest participants and winners agree that Sponsor Parties will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, liabilities, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, or use of any prizes.
15. Participants agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor Parties from all claims, losses. liabilities and demands arising out of or in connection with participation in the Contest, the receipt and use of any prize awarded and, without limiting the generality of the above, from any loss of or damage to property or injury or death to any person while using the prize or participating in the Contest. Prize winner waives the right to 1) to assert as a cost of winning a prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem that prize and 2) any liability claim which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem that prize. Contest void in whole or in part where prohibited, licensed, or restricted. All taxes, are winner’s responsibility. The Contest is subject to all applicable country, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. All materials submitted become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Participants agree that their contact information may be shared with Sponsor Parties and other participants.
16. Your submission of a remix in this Contest constitutes your agreement to these Rules.
17. This Promotion is sponsored by Musical Freedom Label Ltd. NewYork law governs this Contest and prize winner(s) agree that any claims against Sponsors must be filed in the Central District of New York.
